Take Care of the Young Lady - Episode 10

So Episode 9 was pretty tense ne? Hopefully Episode 10 will soften things up a bit for everyone.
After the extremely emotional last 10 minutes of episode 9, Hye Na and Dong Chan are left in the embrace they ended up in after Dong Chan saved Hye Na from an oncoming van.

When the pair finally separate, Hye Na is pretty dazed but tries to walk away. When Dong Chan grabs her arm she tells him to let go. There is silence whilst Dong Chan fights with how to fix the mess he has gotten himself into.
In the end he says "let's go home" and drags her to the car.
Obviously in no fit state to say no Hye Na allows herself to be dragged along. In the car however it's obvious things are different. The atmosphere is tense and Hye Na sits in the back away from Dong Chan where she silently cries.

When they arrive back at the mansion, Hye Na doesn't wait for Dong Chan to open the door. She lets herself out and storms into the house without even saying a word to Maid Jang.
Maid Jang asks if she and Dong Chan had another fight, but leaves before Dong Chan has to answer.
Maid Jang follows Hye Na and asks if she left her phone, she tells Hye Na that Tae Yoon tried calling. Hye Na however completely ignores everything she says and walks off.
When Maid Jang realises she is not listening to what she is saying she gives up.
In her room Hye Na replays the scene with Dong Chan in her head, whilst Tae Yoon continues calling but Hye Na does not answer her phone.

The next day Eui Joo decides she has to put Hye Na in her place, even if it does put her at a disadvantage (she is such a kind soul ^0^). When her ma tells her she is going to deliver flowers to the Kang San Residence, Eui Joo insists on going.
Meanwhile Dong Chan has taken the day off and left early to visit his Mom's grave :(

When Eui Joo arrives at the Kang San residence she sits Hye Na down and puts her right. She explains that even though it wasn't the right course of action, Dong Chan only did what he did to help his Mom, he needed to pay back the money for her hospital fees.
Hye Na seems taken back by the news and from the look on her face it seems she feels guilty.
Once Eui Joo is finished she leaves and Hye Na stands up to find herself face to face with Tae Yoon.
Tae Yoon asks what they were talking about, Hye Na brushes it off and asks why he is there. He tells her he came because she wasn't answering his calls. Hye Na apologises and says he's there now.

By this time Dong Chan is sat at his mother's grave with a bunch of flowers and a bottle of soju, he still has Hye Na's hair clip in his hands. He sits and asks his Mom if he's pathetic, that he still finds her really adorable and pretty.

Dong Chan doesn't arrive back until much later on. When he does Hye Na is stood on the drive waiting for him and fidgeting, she is obviously nervous.
The pair sit down on a bench outside and talk.
Hye Na explains that she probably acted the way she did because the hurt she received was probably the same size as the trust she had in him (obviously a lot).
Dong Chan explains that even if everyone in the world knew he didn't want her to know about his past and reasons, he admits this was because he "liked" her, this catches Hye Na by surprise, she immediately looks at him.
Dong Chan tells her not to worry that he has surpressed his feelings. Not sure whether Hye Na is happy or sad about that. The look on her face says maybe disappointed but more likely she is confused as at this point she hasn't realised her obvious feelings for him :P
When Dong Chan leaves he seems torn, whilst Hye Na is left looking confused and shocked about her own feelings and the confession she just heard.

The next day Tae Yoon calls Eui Joo to meet him and asks if anything is going on between Hye Na and Dong Chan that he should know about. Eui Joo asks why he asks, Tae Yoon admits he overheard a little of their conversation the day before.
Eui Joo waves him off and assures him it was nothing, she was just doing her usual, sticking up for her Oppa.
She then moves on to ask Tae Yoon a question. She points out that if Tae Yoon doesn't like Dong Chan by Hye Na's side she should hurry up and marry her, after all once they are married she won't have a butler, right?

When Eui Joo separates from Tae Yoon she heads back to work where she bumps into Dong Chan. He gives her a memory stick and asks her to help him find who the culprit who copied Hye Na's work.
Eui Joo comments on Dong Chan always doing his best to help her and how she wishes she had a butler like him.
Before she leaves she goes to tell about her meeting with Tae Yoon, but then thinks better of it.

In Hye Na's office, Soo Ah is there to rub Hye Na's nose in the copyright issue. Soo Ah expected Hye Na to give up and is surprised that she hasn't.
Dong Chan enters halfway and assures Soo Ah they have nearly caught the culprit who copied Hye Na's work.
He makes fun of Soo Ah and she leaves. Hye Na points out she is happy he took her side but that Soo Ah won't let him go for it.
Meanwhile Tae Yoon meets up with his brother and it seems all has been resolved =D

Later on Dong Chan returns to the office and sneaks up on Hye Na, she acts weirdly whilst he is there, when he is silent and watching over her shoulder she gets awkward and asks what is wrong.
Dong Chan smiles and tells her it's about time to knock off, he then says "let's go for soju"
Hye Na agrees.
The pair end up at some cheap road side bar, Dong Chan buys Hye Na noodles and himself soju. Hye Na snaps and asks who will drive back if he drinks Soju. Dong Chan tells her she can drive them home and that she should allow him this drink :P
It is agreed and Hye Na eats her noodles. Dong Chan then gets to the point, he asks if things are uncomfortable for Hye Na because he told her about his feelings.
Hye Na admits if she is honest it is uncomfortable, but not because he said he liked her, but because he is no longer the innocent and kind Dong Chan she knew.
Dong Chan doesn't want her to be awkward around him and tells her he will switch positions with Butler Woo Sung.
Hye Na immediately tells him that it's not necessary and that she just needs time to get used to it.
She asks why Dong Chan resorted to the methods he did. When he isn't honest with her Hye Na asks why he doesn't just say he did it all for his mother. Dong Chan smiles not surprised and tells her that doing it for his mother is not an excuse.
When they leave the pair shake hands and agree to have a fresh start.

When they arrive back at the Kang San Residence, Hye Na in the drivers seat, Tae Yoon is waiting. He is obviously not happy, he immediately asks why Hye Na was driving. Hye Na tells him that Dong Chan had some soju so she was right to drive (right?). Tae Yoon is obviously not happy but doesn't say anything.
Dong Chan leaves them to it. Tae Yoon's reason for coming was to tell Hye Na that he had made up with his brother. Because he was so happy about it he wanted to tell her first.
They somehow end up talking about the noodle bar Dong Chan and Hye Na went to together. Tae Yoon obviously isn't happy, but Hye Na is blatantly oblivious and moves back to congratulate him about his brother.
Tae Yoon asks if she will meet his brother or if she's too nervous. Hye Na tells him because it's his brother she should meet him whether she is nervous or not.
They are then interrupted by Dong Chan who runs to Hye Na with the phone, her Grandpa is on the other line,
Hye Na runs off and talks to her Grandpa.
Whilst Dong Chan and Tae Yoon are left alone, Tae Yoon warns Dong Chan not to make him dislike him (after the soju incident) Dong Chan bows his head and apologises ¬¬.
When Hye Na returns she does not realise that anything happened and walks off with Tae Yoon.

The next morning Hye Na and Dong Chan prepare for Hye Na and Tae Yoon's date. The staff all watch eager and shocked to see Dong Chan teaching Hye Na how to make sushi.
This scene is really cute, Dong Chan laughs when he turns to look at her, he tells her she has rice on her face. She tries to get it off but doesn't manage it. Dong Chan smiles and takes it off for her before eating it, slightly catching Hye Na off guard.
Dong Chan tells her that Tae Yoon will be happy if Hye Na makes the food herself rather than buying it or getting the staff to make it.
Hye Na moves on to ask Dong Chan when he is going to use his Birthday coupon as it will run out if he doesn't use it, she warns him that once it is expired he can't use it.
She then points out that he promised her a wish and that he has to listen to it when she has one. Dong Chan agrees.
Hye Na asks what Dong Chan will do for the day. When he doesn't answer right away she continues and asks him if he wants to come with her and Tae Yoon. (This goes to show how attached to Dong Chan she is when she is inviting him along on her dates! What would Tae Yoon think to that!?!?! XD)
Anyway Dong Chan says he has an appointment with Eui Joo. Hye Na awkwardly says that that's good. However it's obvious there is some jealousy in there because she then starts messing up her sushi and starts getting irritable and snappy. LOLZ

Hye Na appears ready for her date, however Dong Chan really isn't impressed with her short revealing outfit and orders her to change :P
Hye Na obviously got the reaction she wanted and tells him it's her sexy concept. Dong Chan blocks her path and tells her she can't go out in it, she tells him that it just makes her want to wear it more.
Dong Chan threatens her and tells her if she doesn't change he will change her, Hye Na laughs and says he's bluffing so Dong Chan bends down to grab her. She immediately yells and walks off agreeing to change :P (Round - Dong Chan XD)

Anyway after all this, the pair go on their respective dates.
Dong Chan meets Eui Joo all smart, when she asks him why he is dressed that way, he advises her he will be her butler for the day after she said she wished he was her butler last time. Eui Joo laughs and says she was just kidding, but Dong Chan insists and drags her away.
He takes her dress shopping where he buys her a nice, new, cute dress. They try hats on in the market. When they get to the park Dong Chan is momentarily reminded of Hye Na as he sees a guy teaching his girlfriend how to ride a bike.

This then takes us to Hye Na and Tae Yoon's date. The pair happily ride their bikes for a while before retiring to eat the food that Hye Na prepared.
Tae Yoon comments on Hye Na's delicious food and admits he is surprised she can do stuff like that, Hye Na tells him she learned it from Dong Chan that morning, which brings the mood down ^^;;;
Tae Yoon asks if Hye Na can do anything without Dong Chan. He asks her if she really needs a butler, as no one else does.
She admits she is thankful to Dong Chan because it is because of him that her and Tae Yoon are together, she then lists the situations he set up for them.

We then flip back to Dong Chan and Eui Joo who are sharing a pot of ice cream. Eui Joo gets some on her cheek, Dong Chan wipes it away and eats it. (Does he do this to everyone? O.o XD)
Eui Joo asks if she treats Hye Na that well every day. Dong Chan tells her they argue all the time. Eui Joo says it must be tiring. Dong Chan says it is but is talking about his one sided love. He explains it's a toss up between being near her and in pain or not being able to see her and suffer thinking about her.
Eui Joo gets jealous and snappy, she tells him he should just leave it, she'll never understand him. But Dong Chan tells her he's never asked for Hye Na to understand his heart he's not that greedy.
When Eui Joo says that's good as she thought he was aiming for the moon (aka too high) he snaps back at her, she tells him to forget about Hye Na and leaves. Dong Chan tries to grab her but she shakes him off and walks away.
Dong Chan is left to his thoughts.

By now Tae Yoon and Hye Na have arrived back at the mansion. Tae Yoon apologises for all the stuff he said about Dong Chan and says it's fine if she wants a butler he'll just have to get used to it. He moves on to say 'but if we get married don't bring you're butler along' Hye Na immediately becomes nervous and tells him it's too early for that kind of talk. (Too right they haven't even kissed yet, right? O.o)
Tae Yoon hugs her before leaving.
As he disappears Hye Na notices Dong Chan walking up the drive, next thing you know Eui Joo appears in a taxi. She jumps out and hugs Dong Chan and apologises. Dong Chan asks if she came all that way for that and wipes her tears away, Eui Joo goes for it and plants a kiss on a shocked Dong Chan before running away.
As she disappears Dong Chan turns around to Hye Na who lies really badly saying she didn't see anything.
She immediately goes into the house, where she pauses and holds her hand to her chest. :o

When Eui Joo returns home her Ma enters her room to find out what is wrong and comments on the saucy dress. When she sees her daughter is not in the mood she leaves.
Eui Joo checks her phone to find lots of worried texts from Dong Chan, which she choses to ignore.
Dong Chan stands back at the Kang San Residence pacing outside worried about Eui Joo.
Hye Na is in her room unsure of why she is reacting the way she is to the kiss she saw between Dong Chan and Eui Joo earlier that day.
She decides to step out onto her balcony to get some clear air where she sees and watches Dong Chan.

The next morning Hye Na and Dong Chan walk into each other, things are obviously awkward, Dong Chan starts to bring up the topic of the kiss but they are soon interrupted by Butler Woo Sung who excitedly tells her that her Grandpa has returned. Awkwardness averted :P
Hye Na runs out to hug her Grandpa, Dong Chan happily follows to greet the chairman.

The Director and his family are over right away obviously eager to know if the surgery was a success or not (them hoping for it not to be ¬¬) Grandpa Kang assures them he's fine and that he wants to hold a party soon to announce Hye Na as the official heir to the company.
Obviously no one else is happy about that.

Manager Jung and Maid Jang watch Director Kang and his family leave. It is here that Manager Jung advises Maid Jang that the Chairman could not have the surgery because it was too late and that he might not make it through the winter.

Inside Hye Na admits to Dong Chan that she feels nervous, Dong Chan tells her she will be fine, that you can't always do what you want. She asks if she will be good at it, Dong Chan asks if he seems like he'd be a good butler? He then says "I'm a good butler" to which Hye Na replies "who said you were good" XD he advises her she needs to stop being rude and bullying people, she goes to hit him (playfully) which proves his point, she asks why he is so naggy.
Dong Chan says it's because he's her butler... at least until the weekend. Hye Na is obviously saddened by this revelation and falls silent.

Later on that evening Dong Chan wonders the grounds, you get the feeling he's kind of taking one last look and saying goodbye. Hye Na comes out of the house and watches him without him noticing. (Stalker much? :P XDD jk)

The next day we are greeted to a scene of Tae Yoon buying couple rings ¬¬ then we are taken to the party at the Kang San Residence.
The staff are briefed and then the guests are allowed to enter.

Dong Chan goes to meet Hye Na so he can bring her over from the house. As he gets to the stairs he looks up to see Hye Na descending elegantly in a stunning long white dress.
She looks at him and smiles as the camera focuses on Dong Chan's stunned look we are treated to a mysterious gust of wind blowing his hair ¬¬ (totally ruined that bit for me sorry ¬¬ stupid uncessary wind grr).
Anyway Hye Na walks down the stairs towards him and stops just above him. She goes to take the last step and oops in true Korean Drama style she misses and lands in Dong Chan's arms.
Dong Chan is quite taken back and looks as if he really doesn't know what to do with himself, with the girl of his dreams in his arms :P
He nervously helps her back to her feet and she smiles. When she is steady he offers her his hand and walks her down the remainder of the stairs =D

Back at the party Eui Joo has arrived and she seems to be practising asking Dong Chan out in different ways, as one of the staff members passes with a tray of wine she grabs it and pretty much downs it... obviously someone's nervous :P
Anyway she notices Dong Chan running into a building and follows him.

Inside Hye Na is practising her speech, Dong Chan gives her a glass of water, which she downs. He smiles and asks if she is nervous, she says no but Dong Chan says it's obvious she is, which makes her irritable :P
She drops the glass and her speech, when she picks up the speech she manages to cut her finger on the smashed class.
Dong Chan bends down and whips out a handkerchief wrapping it around her cut finger and holding it there. She watches him as he does it. Schweet!
Hye Na shows her vulnerability in this moment and admits that she is nervous. Dong Chan jokes at first asking if she could ever be embarassed. Then however he gives one of his normal pep talks and tells her not to worry she will definitely do well because she is Kang Hye Na.
Eui Joo witnessess the intimate moment between them and immediately leaves in tears. She bumps into Tae Yoon. When he asks what's wrong she doesn't answer. However anger seems to catch up and she turns and asks Tae Yoon if he wants to know what Hye Na and Dong Chan's relationship really is...

Dong Chan goes through some breathing exercises with Hye Na to calm her down. He advises her not to be nervous and to speak slowly.
Hye Na takes a deep breath and tells him that if she finishes her speech successfully he has to grant her wish. Dong Chan asks what wish and Hye Na asks if he forgot, reminding him that he promsied her one. He jokes about how she didn't forget and asks her what her wish is.
She says she will tell him after the speech but Dong Chan is really eager to know, so she spills.
"Even though my Grandfather is back don't leave me, stay by my side"

End of Episode! ZOMG!

WAH! How could they leave it this way???? Kills you waiting for next week doesn't it? XD

Anyway episodes 9 and 10 were incredibly strong episodes in the series. Dong Chan and Hye Na had an incredible chemistry and it was obvious who Hye Na really loves.
I love the way that their relationship has grown gradually rather than just being thrown in at the deep end. It's so nice to see Hye Na's attachment and awareness of Dong Chan grow. It was also really nice to see her put down her pride at the end of the episode and ask Dong Chan to stay. The old Hye Na wouldn't have dreamt of doing that. But obviously the reminder of losing him before is good motivation.

The episode ran smooth enough, the scenes were nice. Eui Joo's character whilst I find lovable and cute can be annoying at times. Dong Chan has already admitted that he likes Hye Na, but Eui Joo still tries to push her way in and acts surprised when she sees the two together (I think maybe she wasn't expecting Hye Na's attachment to Dong Chan). She comes across as quite mean though when she tells Dong Chan things like he's aiming to high and he should just give up. It was good that he reacted to that in this episode as I would have found it unrealistic if he didn't.

All the main characters bar Tae Yoon have been developed really nicely. I feel quite sorry for Jung Il Woo portraying Tae Yoon because the character hasn't been written very well at all... it must be hard to act. The character is all over the place and isn't consistent.
Dong Chan and Hye Na's characters are developed nicely and whilst Eui Joo is a little rough on the edges, her character is well developed too and the actress portrays her well.

Anyway after an ending like that waiting for episode 11 is near unbearable ^^;;;

Team Butler Aja <3

  1. helo :D thank you for the description! But i must say if your going to write about something dont take sides. (I'm talking about the boys) It was rather irritating having someone decide who i like or don't like. It was like you were trying to convince me to like Dong Chan better than Tae Yoon. Anyway..some good stuff there. Just try not to take sides next time you write something. thanks
    kind regards
